Our Deer Neighbors

On a recent trip to our family cabin we were visited each morning by a small herd of deer.  The deer had a great appreciation for the farmers who recently planted a nice fresh crop to snack on.  We often see deer roaming near the cabin, but this year there were about a dozen to enjoy watching.  I was able to get within a hundred yards or so of them before they headed down the ravine out of site.  Even then I had to use my long zoom lens to get a good image.  The second photo above is of a single deer that came within 20 yards of the cabin on its way down to join the others.

It was fun to watch the deer easily clear the fencing that keeps cattle out of the crops.  Deer are very graceful animals, and are interesting to watch.
