We have a tradition each year of putting up the Christmas tree on my birthday — a tradition that started years ago with my parents. Kellie and I started when we were first married, and I think some of my siblings carry on the tradition too. This year was especially great because the kids pretty much did all the decorating while Kellie and I just sat back and relaxed.
Matt was born on the first of December, so we put him under the Christmas tree when we brought him Home from the Hospital. That was one week before our first wedding anniversary. Ever since then we have put up the tree up on Matt’s birthday. I guess that is how the tradition got started.
